Aitken nuclei. The microscopic particles in the atmosphere which serve as condensation nuclei for droplet growth during the rapid adiabatic expansion produced by an Aitken dust-counter. These nuclei, often numbering many tens of thousands per cubic centimeter in city air, are both solid and liquid particles whose diameters are of the order of tenths of microns or even smaller. 3, record 1, English, - microscopic%20particle

microscopic. Very small, generally with dimensions between 0.5 and 100 micrometers, and visible only by magnification with an optical microscope. 4, record 1, English, - microscopic%20particle

Noyau d'Aitken. 1, record 1, French, - particule%20microscopique
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
3, record 1, French, - particule%20microscopique
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
