[In his] book The Image of The City ... Kevin Lynch ... defines the legibility of a city as "... the ease with which its parts may be recognized and can be organized into a coherent pattern." La critique de la ville nébuleuse. En général on attribue quatre grands types de reproches à cette forme de décentralisation périphérique : 1. manque de structure : l'illisibilité et la fragmentation. La ville a toujours été construite par interventions successives. La confrontation obligée de ces fragments disparates à l'intérieur d'un cadre morphologique contraignant y engendre néanmoins, une complexité et une intensité qui confèrent à l'ensemble une indéniable plus-value. En mettant en contact ces éléments hétérogènes et en les intégrant dans un ensemble ordonnateur, la ville crée une nouvelle unité au sein de laquelle ils tissent entre eux des relations originales et inattendues. 1, record 1, French, - illisibilit%C3%A9
