The VSI [Voluntary Sector Initiative] is being co-managed by members of the voluntary sector and the federal government. A new secretariat created by the Voluntary Sector Roundtable [VSR] is responsible for coordinating the sector's participation in this endeavor. Secretariat staff reports to a senior steering committee composed of members of the VSR and other voluntary sector organizations working on the Initiative. The federal government has a task force on the voluntary sector located in the Privy Council Office (the department that supports the Prime Minister) to coordinate its involvement in the VSI.
