The ratio of a person's waist circumference to hip circumference.

Blood pressure, weight, height, and hip and waist circumferences were measured according to standard protocols, and BMI [body mass index] and WHR were calculated. ... Waist circumference was measured at the level of the umbilicus and hip circumference was measured over light clothing at the widest girth of the hip. ... Truncal obesity was defined as WHR more than 0.95 in men and WHR more than 0.8 in women.

rapport taille/hanche : Ce terme est à éviter car on s'intéresse au quotient du tour de taille par le tour des deux hanches et non par la circonférence d'une seule hanche.
