On appelle complexe d'altération l'eau qui, dans un manteau de débris, s'est chargée de substances chimiques en solution vraie et surtout en solution colloïdale. Ce complexe tend à s'infiltrer par pesanteur, mais, d'autre part, il est soumis à des actions qui peuvent le faire remonter en surface (...) Ces mouvements jouent un grand rôle dans la genèse du sol.
