A finishing coat.

In plastering, hard finish white coat which consists usually in a mixture of plaster of Paris and lime putty to which marble dust is sometimes added. A gypsum plaster is sometimes used as the hard coat.

Les enduits à base de plâtre sont surtout employés pour l'habillage et le dressement des parois intérieures. Les enduits au mortier de chaux, ou mortier bâtard et au mortier de ciment sont utilisés pour des parois extérieures. Les enduits traditionnels sont généralement appliqués en deux ou plusieurs couches, à la truelle, au bouclier, au balai ou au moyen d'une machine à enduire.
