Existen dos tipos de ácidos nucleicos: el Desoxirribonucleico o ADN y el Ribonucleico o ARN. DNA y RNA por sus siglas en inglés. El ADN se encuentra principalmente en el núcleo de la célula y el ARN en el citoplasma celular.
