A malignant tumor that arises in the pancreas, a gland situated behind the stomach.

OBS

Most carcinomas of the pancreas develop from the cells which form the pancreatic pathways (gastrinoma), rarely from the islets of Langerhans which secrete insulin (insulinoma).
