Record 1, Textual support, English
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A nuclide, stable or radioactive, formed by radioactive decay of another nuclide, which in this context is called the parent. 6, record 1, English, - daughter
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
decay chain: A succession of radionuclides, each one formed by the decay of the previous one. In a radioactive decay chain the decaying nuclide is termed the "mother" radionuclide and the nuclide it decays to is termed the "daughter" nuclide. 7, record 1, English, - daughter
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Holmes & Holmes ... give a simple summary of the theory of how ages are deduced from the radioactive decay of an unstable parent isotope to a more stable isotope of a different element (daughter) ... the parent-daughter relationships ... are of major interest for dating rocks and ores. 8, record 1, English, - daughter
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
"Nuclide" is here an elliptic term. Strictly speaking, it is not a synonym for "radionuclide," which is a specific: a radioactive nuclide. 5, record 1, English, - daughter

[Tout] nucléide qui suit un radionucléide spécifié dans une chaîne de désintégration. [Définition normalisée par l’ISO.] 8, record 1, French, - produit%20de%20filiation
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
On appelle produits de filiation les différents produits des désintégrations successives à partir du nucléide radioactif initial, appelé «père»; tous ces produits forment une «famille radioactive». 9, record 1, French, - produit%20de%20filiation
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Le terme «nucléide» possède un sens plus large que «radionucléide» qui ne se rapporte qu’aux nucléides radioactifs. Il est ici employé comme synonyme elliptique, acceptable lorsque le contexte est suffisamment clair. 7, record 1, French, - produit%20de%20filiation

Uranium is a naturally occurring radioactive element that is also widely distributed on earth. Throughout the decay of uranium, a cascade of different radionuclides (a decay series) is formed until stable, non-radioactive lead is reached. One important member of the Uranium 238 decay series, the commonest form of uranium, is Radium 226. 7, record 2, English, - decay%20series
