The Environmental Monitoring Division participates in the international marine program and specifically the systems for marine and ocean observation and data collection project. With the support of the Canadian Coast Guard/Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the division maintains a network of nine moored ODAS (Ocean Data Acquisition Systems) buoys along the coasts of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. The buoys collect and transmit hourly weather and sea state data 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Data is transmitted to the GOES satellite then relayed to earth stations where it is entered into the Global Telecommunications System (GTS). Archiving of data is done by the Marine Environmental Data Service (MEDS) of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and by Environment Canada.

La Division de la surveillance de l'environnement participe à un programme international d’observation et, en particulier, à un projet d’observation et de collecte de données en mer. La Division a un réseau de neuf bouées SADO(Système d’acquisition de données océaniques) ancrées le long des côtes de Terre-Neuve et de la Nouvelle-Écosse, qu'elle entretient avec l'appui de la Garde côtière canadienne et de Pêches et Océans. Ces bouées recueillent des données sur l'état de la mer et les transmettent toutes les heures, 24 heures sur 24 et sept jours sur sept. Ces données sont captées par satellite GOES qui les renvoient à des stations à terre, où elles passent dans le Système global de télécommunications(SGT). L'archivage des données est effectué par le Service des données sur le milieu marin(SDMM) du ministère des Pêches et par Environnement Canada.

The Royal Centre for Remote Sensing (CRTS) is the national institution responsible for the promotion, use and development of remote sensing applications in Morocco. CRTS coordinates and carries out the national program of remote sensing in collaboration with ministerial departments, private operators and universities. CRTS uses operational systems to collect, produce and analyze data from Earth observation satellites and other sources. It also runs the national archiving facilities. CRTS develops applications and methods in space technologies and related disciplines (remote sensing, GIS, positioning, telecommunications, ...) CRTS also provides training and education opportunities in space technologies, and maintains partnerships for research actions and programs with universities and research institutions.

Créé par décret en décembre 1989, le CRTS a été mandaté pour promouvoir l'exploitation et le développement des applications de la télédétection au Maroc. Le CRTS coordonne et réalise le programme national en télédétection en collaboration avec les départements ministériels, les opérateurs privés et les universités marocaines. Le CRTS est responsable de l'acquisition, l'archivage et la diffusion des données et images, de l'observation de la Terre, de la réalisation des projets et du développement de méthodologies en Télédétection et Systèmes d’Information Géographique et domaines connexes. Il assure également un programme de Formation Continue dans le domaine des techniques spatiales et participe à des programmes et actions de recherche en partenariat avec des institutions de recherche nationales et étrangères.
