CBRN [chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear] defence GS consists of functions beyond the CBRN defence CS [close support] or CBRN defence IS [integral support] capability. GS capabilities are carried out by specialist CBRN defence elements. The commitment of CBRN defence GS resources is planned at the operational level but executed at the tactical level.
