Opération consistant à tirer profit d'un écart entre la valeur liquidative des parts d'un fonds, habituellement calculée une fois par jour à une heure fixée d'avance, et leur valeur de marché, qui peut varier tout au long de la journée.

OBS

Lorsque l'arbitrage sur valeur liquidative a lieu après une heure limite, l'Autorité des marchés financiers le considère comme répréhensible car il porte atteinte à l'égalité entre les porteurs.

OBS

L'expression anglaise «market timing» recouvre plus largement, dans les pays anglo-saxons, toute opération visant à tirer parti d'une différence de valeur dans une période de temps.
