Spider crabs have a pair of chelae (pincerlike front legs) that in decorating species serve to gather material and attach it to hooked setae: minute curved bristles found on the sides of the carapace ... on the rostrum ... on the back of the long slender walking legs and sometimes on the back of chelae themselves.
