A centre whose primary objective is to produce integrated, comprehensive and timely assessments of terrorist threats to Canadian interests, both domestically and internationally. [Definition standardized by Public Safety Canada and the Translation Bureau.]

In June 2011, ITAC was renamed the Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre in order to renew its focus on the terrorist threats to Canadians and Canadian interests.

The Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre is a functional component of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and is governed by the Canadian Security Intelligence Act.

ICES is a leading forum for the promotion, coordination, and dissemination of research on the physical, chemical, and biological systems in the North Atlantic and advice on human impact on its environment, in particular fisheries effects in the Northeast Atlantic. In support of these activities, ICES facilitates data and information exchange through publications and meetings, in addition to functioning as a marine data centre for oceanographic, environmental, and fisheries data. ICES works with experts from its 19 Member Countries and collaborates with more than 40 international organizations, some of which hold Scientific Observer status.
