There are two general levels of security classification in Canada: "classified" and "designated". The first one concerns the national interest, and is the highest level of security classification. This level includes three sub-levels which are in ascending order: "Confidential", "Secret" and "Top Secret". The general level "designated" concerns public and private interests. Au Canada, il existe deux niveaux généraux : «classifié» et «désigné». Le niveau «classifié», qui concerne l'intérêt national, est le plus important. Utilisation des cotes de sécurité : Les cotes de sécurité sont invariables, commencent toujours par une majuscule et sont toujours mises entre guillemets. En d'autres termes, une cote utilisée à l'en-tête d'une lettre, d'un dossier, etc., s'écrit entre guillemets et commence par une majuscule, exemple : «Confidentiel»; «Protégé A», etc. Toute cote inscrite ou citée dans le corps d'une lettre ou dans un texte, reste invariable et garde la majuscule et les guillemets; exemple : des documents classifiés «Très secret»; des lettres classifiées «Très secret»; des documents désignés «Protégé C», etc. 5, record 1, French, - classifi%C3%A9
