The Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement is an out-of-court settlement which represents the consensus reached in the discussions between the Government of Canada, legal counsel for former students, the Churches, the Assembly of First Nations and other Aboriginal organizations. The implementation of this historic agreement brings a fair and lasting resolution to the legacy of Indian Residential Schools. Former students can now benefit from the individual and collective measures provided by the Settlement Agreement.

La Convention de règlement relative aux pensionnats indiens est un règlement extrajudiciaire qui représente le consensus atteint au cours des discussions entre le gouvernement du Canada, les avocats des anciens élèves, les avocats des Églises, l'Assemblée des Premières nations et d'autres organisations autochtones. La mise en œuvre de cette entente historique permet de régler de manière juste et durable les séquelles des pensionnats indiens. Les anciens élèves peuvent maintenant bénéficier des mesures individuelles et collectives prévues par la Convention de règlement.
