Poterie recouverte d'un émail en étain blanc opaque sur lequel on peignait des décorations. Fabriquée pour la première fois au début du XVIIIe siècle, elle fut introduite par des potiers immigrants hollandais à Lambeth, où un certain nombre de manufactures furent mises en marche; d'autres s'établirent dans les provinces, notamment à Bristol et à Liverpool. La delft hollandaise est de meilleure qualité que la delft anglaise, dont la forme est relativement grossière et l'enduit souvent si mince qu'on peut distinguer la teinte rougeâtre de l'argile. Les décorations peintes par les Hollandais sont aussi beaucoup plus raffinées. La plupart de ces pièces avaient un usage domestique; on trouvait des cruches, des plats, des assiettes, des chandeliers; très peu avaient un caractère ornemental.
