DEVITRIFICATION [3 records]

Record 1 2001-12-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Nuclear Waste Materials
  • Chemistry
  • Atomic Physics
DEF

The process by which the glassy texture of a material is converted into a crystalline texture.

CONT

Crystallization (devitrification) can have a number of deleterious effects on the integrity of the glass waste form. Crystallization can cause depletion of silica, leaving the residual glass phase with a lowered chemical durability.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Déchets nucléaires
  • Chimie
  • Physique atomique
CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Restoration of Works of Art (Museums and Heritage)
DEF

The conversion of glassy matter into crystalline ...

French

Domaine(s)
  • Restauration d'œuvres d'art (Muséologie et Patrimoine)
CONT
