The two classes of absorbers are screening agents and excited-state quenchers. Excited-state quenchers stabilize the polymer by removing energy from the molecule that has already absorbed ultraviolet light .... Of the excited-state quenchers, nickel compounds are the most effective especially organo-nickel complexes. 1, record 1, English, - excited%2Dstate%20quencher

Polymers, because of their structure, additives or structure defects, can contain what are referred to as chromophor groups, which by absorbing UV-light can increase the electronic energy level of the polymer. The polymer in this situation can readily react further, for example, with oxygen (photo-oxidation). The higher scale energy of the polymer can be transferred to the quencher by adding energy quencher. The quenchers absorb the scale energy via energy transfers in the form of "safe" long wave rays (fluorescent, phosphorescent and heat rays) which does not promote any further photo-oxidation. 3, record 1, English, - excited%2Dstate%20quencher

1, record 1, French, - quencher%20%C3%A0%20l%27%C3%A9tat%20excit%C3%A9
