Des antisérums peuvent être rendus spécifiques d'un déterminant antigénique par absorption. Les absorptions peuvent être réalisées par simple incubation avec des cellules, des bactéries ou des antigènes éventuellement insolubilisés par polymérisation en présence de glutaraldéhyde ou fixation sur un support solide (immuno-adsorbants). Immuno-adsorbant. L'antisérum est déposé sur une colonne contenant l'antigène sur lequel s'adsorbent spécifiquement les anticorps correspondants. Les anticorps peuvent être récupérés après l'élution de la colonne obtenue par abaissement du pH ou élévation de la molarité.
