OBS

DoD [Department of Defense] administers the Key Assets Protection Program (KAPP), whose purpose is to protect selected civilian industrial assets from sabotage during a national emergency. Selected industries are those that are deemed essential to national defense and include some industry-owned or controlled by DoD. The program identifies which electrical power systems provide energy to vital military installations and defense manufacturing areas. In addition, critical nodes on each power system are identified in order to facilitate defense planning.
