OBS

La percussion de la paroi antérieure de l'abdomen, sous le rebord costal droit, permet de repérer le bord inférieur du foie. Le bord inférieur se recherche en réalité par la palpation de l'hypocondre droit et du creux épigastrique. La main est posée à plat sur la paroi abdominale, l'examinateur étant assis à la droite du malade. Le bord externe de l'index ou les extrémités des doigts cherchent à «accrocher» le bord inférieur du foie, notamment lors des inspirations profondes.
