La pression de radiation est la pression exercée sur une surface exposée à un rayonnement électromagnétique. Cet effet fut déduit théoriquement par James Maxwell en 1871 et fut détecté expérimentalement par Pyotr Lebedev en 1900 puis par Ernest Nichols et Gordon Hull en 1901.
