The Thunder Bay Indian Friendship Centre (TBIFC) operates a diversion program for youth (16-17) and adults. The program was established to restore a greater degree of responsibility by the Aboriginal community for the conduct of Aboriginal people in conflict with the justice system and to determine appropriate dispositions for Aboriginal youth and adults who have been charged with offences.

Le programme a été établi pour que la collectivité autochtone assume de nouveau une plus grande responsabilité quant à la conduite des Autochtones qui sont aux prises avec le système judiciaire et pour prendre des dispositions appropriées pour les Autochtones, jeunes et adultes, qui ont commis des infractions.
