The Richmond Gem & Mineral Society (RGMS), founded in 1957 as the Richmond Gem & Mineral Club, is a nonprofit, family oriented club formed to foster and promote the hobby of rock collecting, and to preserve the cultural art of lapidary and silversmithing. This is done by encouraging ... members to partake in rock hounding trips, and basic training courses such as: rock identification, lapidary, silversmithing, lost wax casting, carving, wire wrapping, and faceting.
