Séparateurs cycliques. Ces séparateurs sont constitués d'un bobinage réalisé à partir d'un conducteur creux en cuivre de haute conductivité, isolé par des fibres de verre imprégnées de résine époxyde. L'enveloppe du solénoïde pour la fermeture du champ est en acier à bas taux de carbone. Le système réfrigérant comprend un échangeur de température et une pompe pour la circulation de l'eau (désionisée) de réfrigération à travers le bobinage et le générateur de puissance. Les débits d'eau varient de 5 à 10 L/s ]...] Le cœur de la bobine est rempli d'une matrice ferromagnétique de porosité très élevée (95 à 98%). Ces séparateurs fonctionnent suivant trois périodes : alimentation, puis rinçage sous champ, enfin expulsion des produits magnétiques.
