... overfitting is the situation where an algorithm is trained too well for accuracy with a specific training data set. If tailored too specifically to a training data set, the algorithm fails to generalize well and its predictive power is reduced for any new data.

Il peut alors se produire le phénomène de surapprentissage : le réseau qui a obtenu de très bonnes performances sur la base d'apprentissage a de très mauvaises performances en généralisation sur la base de test alors que base de test et base d'apprentissage ont été sélectionnées aléatoirement parmi les exemples disponibles.

The failure of an exchange rate to find its true level, but to move beyond it, owing to temporary pressures, which are then reversed as the excessive movement of the exchange rate is perceived.

The authorities in all the Summit countries have intervened at times as part of their response to situations in which exchange rates were judged to have diverged markedly from what appeared to be warranted on the basis of fundamental economic factors. This is often loosely described as "overshooting".
