A type of primitive sleigh having a floor made out of planks supported on shallow runners. The sides consist of vertical spaced sticks cut from young trees which are fitted into the runners.

OBS

The expression "country wood-sleigh" can be found in the legend of an illustration in the Canadian Illustrated News of January 25, 1873, reprinted in "Quebec, a Pictorial Record" by Charles de Volpi (1971, Longsman publisher).
