Las ocurrencias encontradas en relación al término "violencia entre hermanos" corresponden en su mayoría a contextos en que se tratan problemas políticos internos de una sociedad, tales como la persecución política de ciertas minorías o la tortura, es decir, se utiliza generalmente como sinónimo de "violencia entre compatriotas". Sin embargo, consideramos pertinente proponer el término citado para el campo específico de la sociología de la familia.
