Nephrocalcinosis [of fish] and visceral granuloma are conditions found particularly in salmonid culture, induced supposedly by high levels of carbon dioxide in the water producing a metabolic acidosis and urinary and tissue precipitation of calcium around which extensive granulomata develop.
