BURST MODE [7 records]

Record 1 2015-09-30

English

Subject field(s)
  • Photography
CONT

In burst mode several photographs are captured in quick succession... This is used mainly when the subject is in successive motion, such as sports. The photographer can then select the best image of the group or arrange them in a sequence to study the transitions in detail.

Record 4 2003-01-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Interplanetary Space Exploration
CONT

Spacecraft operations are minimal. They are limited to simple instrument control commands, uplink of burst mode operations, simple power, thermal and telemetry, and uplink of a Burst Type B bit, in the case of a campaign mode operation. However, work on this area is necessary because never before such a mission has been attempted. It is imperative that a detailed description of the mission operations requirements of this strawman mission be detailed, and a good estimate of the expected cost be derived.

Record 5 2002-09-23

English

Subject field(s)
  • Information Processing (Informatics)
  • Air Navigation Aids
CONT

A VHF digital link(VDL) Mode 4 burst is composed of a sequence of source address, burst ID, information, slot reservation, and frame check sequence(FCS) field, bracketed by opening and closing flag sequences.

OBS

The start of a burst may occur only at quantized time intervals and this constraint allows the propagation delay between the transmission and reception to be derived.

OBS

VDL Mode 4 burst : term officially approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Traitement de l'information (Informatique)
  • Aides à la navigation aérienne
DEF

English

Subject field(s)
  • Small Arms
CONT

When firing in the fully automatic mode, part of the force of each round fired is fed back to the trigger, giving the firer accurate tactile control over the burst duration.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Armes légères
CONT
