D'autres systèmes, analogiques toutefois, comme la prothèse auditive Pics [...] avaient déjà permis une amélioration de l'audition de nombreux malentendants grâce à son processeur de traitement du son. Récemment équipé d'un "zoom acoustique", le Pics peut lui aussi isoler une conversation du bruit ambiant grâce à l'utilisation de plusieurs micros. Le processeur acoustique, en analysant simultanément les sons fournis par les micros, est capable de trier le message utile du bruit parasite.
