DEF

An organelle, usually sausage-shaped but varying from spherical to filamentous, found in the cytoplasm of all cells except bacteria and Cyanophyceae. The interior is imperfectly partitioned with usually transverse, but sometimes longitudinal or concentric, cristae ... or granules.

DEF
