ANTI-REFLECTION COATING [2 records]

Record 1 2012-03-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Optics
  • Photoelectricity and Electron Optics
  • Lasers and Masers
DEF

A thin film of dielectric material applied to a surface to reduce its reflection and to increase its transmission of light or other electro-magnetic radiation.

CONT

Just as with a coated camera lens, reflections are reduced by putting on antireflection (AR) coatings consisting of layers having indices of refraction between that of the semiconductor, and the air.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Optique
  • Photo-électricité et optique électronique
  • Masers et lasers
DEF

Record 2 2003-12-22

English

Subject field(s)
  • Audiovisual Techniques and Equipment
  • Photography
DEF

A very thin transparent coating - usually of metallic fluorides - applied by vacuum evaporation on to glass surfaces to reduce light loss by surface reflection.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Audiovisuel (techniques et équipement)
  • Photographie
DEF
