L'Association de parents pour l'adoption québécoise (APAQ) a été fondée en 1996 dans le but de favoriser l'adoption des enfants d'ici. L'objectif est de faire connaître les besoins particuliers des enfants du Québec et de soutenir les parents qui tentent d'y répondre. L'association souhaite contribuer à leurs efforts afin d'assurer à chacun de ces enfants un milieu de vie familiale, stable, sécurisant et accueillant. L'association s'adresse aux postulants en adoption, parents adoptants et parents en post-adoption afin de leur offrir de partager leurs ressources, leur expérience, leurs craintes et leurs joies avec des gens vivant la même réalité qu'eux.
