L'AJBQ est un organisme de bienfaisance, à but non lucratif, possédant une charte en vigueur depuis août 1993. Elle a vu le jour principalement pour contrer la MÉCONNAISSANCE stupéfiante de la société à l'égard du bégaiement, offrir du soutien aux jeunes bègues de 2 à 25 ans et promouvoir les services qui leur sont accessibles ainsi qu'à leurs parents et ce, dans un malheureux constat de manque de ressources.
