Fibroscopie bronchique - [...] [L'appareil est] constitué d'un long cylindre souple de 3 à 6 mm de diamètre inséré sur une poignée. Le cylindre, recouvert d'une enveloppe en plastique très souple à son extrémité, renferme : - un ou deux trousseaux de fibres optiques se prolongeant au-delà de la poignée, hors de l'appareil, et amenant la lumière depuis une source externe jusque dans les bronches devant l'objectif [...] - un canal opérateur [...] Les fibroscopes à gros canal facilitent les désobstructions des atélectasies et les lavages broncho-alvéolaires (L.B.A.) et permettent de plus importantes biopsies tout en maintenant une aspiration par le canal;
