Public Health Agency of Canada, Centre for Surveillance Coordination. The Project integrates two key priority areas for Canadians: biotechnology and health surveillance. The mandate for this project is to establish a national surveillance system to monitor human late health effects, following the use of biotechnology/bio-engineered products regulated in Canada. Such a national system would identify product areas for direct enforcement or public health interventions and would mesure the success of regulatory programs.

Le Projet combine deux domaines prioritaires clés pour les Canadiennes et les Canadiens : la biotechnologie et la surveillance de la santé. Le mandat relatif à ce projet consiste à mettre sur pied un système national de surveillance afin d'observer les effets tardifs potentiels sur la santé des humains après l'utilisation de produits biotechnologiques ou transgéniques réglementés au Canada. Un tel système national identifierait les genres de produits en vue d'une application directe ou d'interventions en santé publique et mesurerait le succès des programmes de réglementation.
