BLOCK FLOW SLIDE [1 record]

Record 1 1978-05-07

English

Subject field(s)
  • Geology
OBS

A slide resulting from internal deformation leading to failure of a hard rock, jointed, blocky mass. It is believed that failure is initiated by the concentration of stress on corners of the individual blocks bounded by joint planes and that, when a general breakdown has occurred, a flow of blocks and pulverized material to the bottom of the slope occurs.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Géologie
OBS
