The Canadian Association of Anatomists/Association canadienne d'anatomie was founded on October 17, 1956 to advance knowledge of Anatomy and to represent the anatomical sciences in Canada. In November 1995, the name of the Association was changed to the Canadian Association for Anatomy, Neurobiology, and Cell Biology/Association canadienne d'anatomie, de neurobiologie et de biologie cellulaire to better accommodate individuals with diverse research backgrounds and interests who share the common task of teaching in the various disciplines of anatomy and related fields.
