CONT

The chrominance subcarrier is transmitted unmodulated in the form of color bursts that are used for synchronizing purposes in the receiver.

OBS

According to the Electronics Dictionary by J. Markus (MAELB), the terms "color carrier" and "color subcarrier" are considered as deprecated.
