The appointment of the new Ministry and the reorientation of government announced today (2003-12-22) will be enhanced by key appointments to support the Prime Minister and new structures in the Privy Council Office (PCO) and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). There will be three new secretariats in the Privy Council Office to support the Prime Minister: A new Canada-US Secretariat in the PCO will support the Canada-US Cabinet Committee and help promote an integrated approach across government to Canada-US issues; A Cities Secretariat will be established in the PCO to improve coordination and provide a focal point for work on a New Deal; and An Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat will be created in the PCO to support the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Committee on Aboriginal Affairs. 2, record 1, English, - Cities%20Secretariat

Pour appuyer le nouveau conseil des ministres et les changements de fond annoncés aujourd'hui, le gouvernement a procédé à d'importantes nominations auprès du Premier ministre et à la création de nouvelles structures au sein du Bureau du Conseil privé (BCP) et du Cabinet du Premier ministre (CPM). Trois nouveaux secrétariats seront créés au BCP pour appuyer le Premier ministre : Le secrétariat du BCP chargé des relations canado-américaines aura pour tâche de seconder le Comité du Cabinet responsable de ce dossier; ce secrétariat contribuera à promouvoir l'adoption d'une approche intégrée à l'échelle du gouvernement dans les relations canado-américaines; Le secrétariat du BCP chargé des villes sera mis sur pied pour renforcer la coordination et servir de centre de liaison pour les travaux visant à forger une nouvelle entente avec les villes; Le secrétariat du BCP chargé des affaires autochtones sera mis sur pied afin de seconder le Premier ministre et le Comité du Cabinet chargé des affaires autochtones. 2, record 1, French, - Secr%C3%A9tariat%20des%20villes
