A continuous miner for operation in coal headings. The coal is completely augered by two banks of cutting arms fitted with picks and rotating at 52 r.p.m. The arms rotate in opposite directions to assist in gathering up the cuttings for the central conveyor. The cutting height is between 38 and 48 in. The crawler tracks provide a continuous thrust on the picks and a cutting rate of about 4 in./min. is possible. 4, record 1, English, - Colmol%20miner

Chaque élément porte un taillant avancé et une palette armée de dents, les unes centrales plus en avant et les autres périphériques en retrait. Deux éléments voisins tournent en sens inverse et la rangée inférieure est en avance sur la rangée supérieure. À la base, un racloir ramasse le charbon sur le mur.
