The Committee on Science and Technology of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe plays an essential role in promoting scientific and technological co-operation at pan-European level. It seeks political solutions to the problems facing modern society as a result of scientific and technological development - in the fields of biomedicine, telecommunications and energy, for example. It endeavours to make the authorities aware of the impact of scientific and technological decisions. It also aims to improve dialogue between political decision-makers and the scientific community.
