El cinismo organizacional es una actitud negativa del empleado hacia la organización empleadora, sustentada en la creencia de que ésta carece de integridad, ha quebrantado los principios de justicia y honestidad a favor de intereses personales de los líderes, y cuyas acciones se basan en motivaciones ocultas. Se trata de un constructo multidimensional que incluye componentes afectivos (ira, angustia, desconfianza, vergüenza) y conativos (tendencias a la crítica y al desprecio) consistentes con esas creencias.
