The establishment of an Elder Abuse Resource Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in 1990 was the culmination of more than 10 years of effort by the local professional community. Developed as a three-year demonstration project, the Centre's primary goal is to focus and coordinate existing services to elder abuse victims and their families.
