Earth Day Canada campaign. In the first year of this annual campaign, over two million Canadians will wear a green ribbon to commemorate Earth Day. Sponsorship and donations created by the campaign will be used to create much needed manuals and resources for community tree planting projects. One of the most popular Earth Day events, tree planting is an environmental action in itself. It is also a symbolic act that commemorates and reaffirms our environmental commitment. An estimated three million trees are planted to mark Earth Day in thousands of Canadian communities. Individuals and families, community and employee groups and school classes are among the most active tree planters.

Jour de la Terre Canada lance sa campagne Ruban vert, pour célébrer son programme de plantation d'arbres du Jour de la terre 1993 et plus particulièrement les projets de plantations communautaires d'un bout à l'autre du Canada. Au cours de cette première année de la campagne, près de 2 millions de Canadiens arboreront un ruban vert pour commémorer le Jour de la Terre. Les dons et commandites recueillis grâce à cette campagne serviront à la création de manuels et de ressources diverses pour les projets communautaires de plantation d'arbres.
