The Gulf of Main Council on the Marine Environment is a U.S.-Canadian partnership of government and non-government organizations working to maintain and enhance environmental quality in the Gulf of Main to allow for sustainable resource use by existing and future generations. Le Conseil du golfe du Maine sur l'environnement marin a été constitué en 1989 pour encourager la concertation au sein d'un bassin hydrographique qui comprend deux provinces canadiennes et trois États américains.
