Les purpuras thrombopéniques idiopathiques [fréquents au cours de l'infection par le V.I.H.] sont liés à la destruction des plaquettes sanguines par des autoanticorps antiplaquettes par opsonisation dans le foie et surtout la rate (en présence de C3). Lorsque la thrombopénie est sévère, on peut observer des hémorragies.
