Le module récepteur repose sur le concept «diode PIN à adaptation d'impédance» selon lequel la diode PIN fonctionne comme une source de courant indépendante de la résistance de charge. Le «transformateur adaptateur d'impédance» crée un «gain passif» en convertissant le photocourant de la diode, proportionnel au niveau du signal entrant, en un courant plus élevé à sa sortie, lequel est adapté à un circuit de post-amplification de 75 avec un bon niveau de bruit et de linéarité.
